About the Chief Instructors

Heidi

Chief Instructor Heidi​

Heidi is a Chief Instructor, training with her husband Mike, teenage daughter Lucy and younger son Charlie at Leading Martial Arts. She is a qualified primary school teacher of 22 years with a specialism in Early years Education.

Heidi has a full enhanced DBS, is First Aid trained and is the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the club. The strong passion she has for martial arts took her on a journey to achieving her blackbelt in Kickboxing. With her positive attitude, patience, and tireless energy, she enjoys helping students work hard and succeed on their martial arts journey.

Heidi’s doesn’t hide her love for martial arts and because of this her students quickly become engaged and passionate too.

Mike

Chief Instructor Mike​

Mike is a Chief Instructor, training with his wife Heidi, teenage daughter Lucy and younger son Charlie at Leading Martial Arts.

He works for the Department for Education and has covered primary, secondary and further education. Mike has a full enhanced DBS, is First Aid trained and is the Deputy Safeguarding Lead for the club.

Mike is a very experienced martial artist with over 15 years training and has two blackbelts. Mike really enjoys passing on his learning to others and is always improving on his own martial arts ability, demonstrating great technique along with humility. With his patience and fun personality, he enjoys training students and helping them achieve their own personal goals.

School Culture​

Leading Martial Arts, is a family run, family friendly club. We remember our first day walking into a martial arts class with all the emotions that it brought. We promise at our club you will feel welcome and part of our family at all times. We believe in developing each and every student in a fair and equal environment and aim to bring great personal growth and confidence to deal with real life situations. Our martial art is not a point scoring sport. Its sole purpose is to give you the ability to be able to defend yourself effectively should you need to.

Our Style of Martial Art​​

Our Style of Martial Art is a carefully crafted selection of Kickboxing and Karate for all ages and abilities. We have focused the style on it’s ability to be effective and efficient whilst ensuring progression through the belts is achievable. Our students develop strength, flexibility, and overall cardiovascular fitness through a structured syllabus.
